SITE STRUCTURE AND NAVIGATION

Welcome to the Pegasus Energy Project web site! Our purpose is to communicate as clearly as possible. No bells and whistles, no animated informationals, no complex screens that take minutes to download but contribute little to your knowledge and understanding.

Five main sections address all aspects of manometric technology presented in straight text format, or graphically through animated diagrams and drawings. They are directly accessible from the Menu (Home) page, or from the box to the left of your screen:

  • INFORMATION
  • Literature, text, papers, references. In short, all that you would expect to find in any good reference library.
  • GRAPHICS
  • For those who are more comfortable with illustrations, photographs, and videos.
  • BASICS
  • Simple, easy-to-understand explanations of the processes and devices which are the foundation of Manometric Technology.
  • FOR HOBBYISTS
  • Shop drawings, illustrations, design data, and just about everything a practical person needs to build working manometric pumps and engines of various types and sizes.
  • WE NEED
  • Postings of help wanted, equipment needed, employment, funding, information we need, and our novel Sponsor-A-Project plan.
  • OUR MISSION
  • Our Mission statement. You may "hold our feet to the fire" if we wander from our goals!
  • SITE CONTENTS
  • The detailed Table of Contents and site map.
  • SITE GUIDE
  • Gets you to the page you are now reading.
The starting point for all browsing -- just a mouse click away from anywhere in this site -- is the Table of Contents. It serves as a site map to show what is available now and all that is planned for the future. In a sense, this is PEP's business plan. However, the site is very much in a state of "under construction", as indicated by the many gaps yet to be filled. We beg your patience, and apologize for any inconvenience.

The central theme will always be the same, namely the application of manometric technology in the electric power generation industry, and in other allied fields, all of which will reduce atmospheric emissions.

No matter where you might find yourself in our site, you will always be able to get back to the Table of Contents, or travel to any other item, in most cases with just one or two mouse clicks. The complete list of subjects is permanently displayed to the left of your screen, even though not all of them have been activated yet. The selected subject and its associated sub-topics are shown in the horizontal row at the top of your screen, and the horizontal row at the bottom gives you instant access to the following site features:

  • ToC
  • Table of Contents.
  • Menu.
  • Go to Top (Title Page) of the site.
  • Help
  • Gets you to the major part of the page you are now reading, whenever you need it.
  • Mission
  • Our Mission Statement allows you to review our commitment at any time.
  • Newsletter
  • "Ship's Log", gives you timely inside news and information on events relating to Pegasus. Sometimes serious, sometimes lighthearted, we hope to publish it monthly.
  • Update
  • Here you will find late-breaking news, latest project information, and status reports.
  • Directory
  • How to contact us.
  • Links
  • A carefully selected collection of links to other relevant sites, categorized into four broad fields of interest.
  • Webmaster
  • Our Webmaster is responsible for running the web site and fixing problems such as browser incompatibilities or broken URLs.
To preserve hyperlink integrity, the URLs pointing to changed or obsolete items will always be left in place with a brief explanatory message, and possibly a new forward URL. Users can then update their bookmarks to maintain complete accuracy. Such changes will also be reported ahead of time in the 'Update' feature.

TIPS:

Any link in golden lettering or not underscored has not been activated yet. Bookmark active URLs only; inactive ones are more likely to change.

You can increase your viewing area by turning off unnecessary browser features, such as toolbars, LOCATIONS, and director buttons.

Subject matter has been contained within individual '.html' files to facilitate the printing of hard copies. The end of each file is marked by the presence of the Pegasus Energy Project name and address panel.

Our goal is to maintain and operate a web site which you will enjoy visiting, over and over again. Beyond being a mere source of information, it will enable you to submit your own suggestions and ideas, and participate actively in other ways, too. For example, if you know of interested folks who do not have Internet access, you can print out and pass on relevant sections. You will be able to monitor the progress of projects undertaken by Pegasus Energy Project, as they unfold. You will be able to participate in discussion groups and forums dealing with greenhouse gases, global warming, and related issues such as health. And those of you with practical skills will find plans and guidance to build working models or full-scale manometric engines and pumps. Volunteers and one-time contributors of material will always be welcome. Contributions to this web site, or to the Pegasus Energy Project proper, will receive some form of recognition.

Pegasus Energy Project belongs to us all, so let's have fun, and make sure to include our URLs in your Bookmarks so that you can visit often.

Enough said -- let's go and do it!
